Bishop Linville Turns 4!

What does it mean for a company to complete its fourth turn around the sun?

I started Bishop Linville four years (4 years!) ago after getting laid off. It happens. An age old tech company story: “we’re hiring while we’re doing our fundraise.” Pull the ticket, take the ride. Instead a war started and funding dried up, and so too did my role. I had spent years building marketing teams, brand teams, growth teams, sales and CS. And finally, suddenly I realized that I could just do this on my own. And as a bonus, I could work with a handful of clients vs relying on an FTE role.

Jump forward four years. Bishop Linville still follows our charter of marketing strategy engagements for B2B companies and we've expanded into brand naming and market sizing. We’ve worked with leading financial services firms, innovation consultancies, software development firms, and cutting edge mobility builders. We’ve made mistakes and learned from them.

Completing the fourth turn around the sun means you get to start the fifth circuit around that same sun. It’s beautiful, really, this opportunity to build something that others rely on; to work with fantastic clients and wonderful collaborators.

What's new for year five?

What’s new for year five? A continued, deepening focus on the Lead with Help marketing strategy. An expansion of the brand naming into residential real estate. I love the thought of naming a place that people call home or a multi-use where an entrepreneur locates her retail or restaurant. This expansion feels full circle: I named my company after an intersection in the Detroit neighborhood of my childhood. Oh, and there's a secret project that I’ll share in the next few months.

My deepest thanks to our clients, our fans, and all the good people who’ve hopped on a call to help me figure something out.

How can you help? Make an intro when you’re in a conversation with a company leader who struggles with their marketing strategy or a real estate developer who needs to create the essence of their next residential development before construction begins. And you can share this newsletter.

Again, my thanks to all.
